Our History

The Hindu Association of Mexico

Founded in 1995, the Hindu Association of Mexico serves as a bridge between Indian culture and Mexican society. Our mission is to promote understanding, appreciation, and practice of Hindu philosophy, yoga, meditation, and cultural traditions.

What began as a small group of enthusiasts has grown into a vibrant community with thousands of members across Mexico. We organize cultural events, spiritual workshops, and educational programs to share the richness of Hindu traditions.

Our center in Mexico City features a beautiful temple, meditation halls, and a cultural center where people from all backgrounds can explore Hindu spirituality and philosophy.

Compatibility with Other Paths

Hinduism and Buddhism

Hinduism and Buddhism share many philosophical concepts, including karma, dharma, and moksha/nirvana. Many Hindus incorporate Buddhist meditation practices, while Buddhists in India often participate in Hindu festivals. The two traditions can complement each other beautifully.

Hinduism and Christianity

While there are theological differences, many Hindus and Christians find common ground in ethical teachings and the importance of love and compassion. Some Christians appreciate Hindu meditation techniques, while Hindus may admire Christ's teachings without necessarily converting.

Hinduism and Paganism

Hinduism shares with pagan paths a reverence for nature, multiple deities, and cyclical time. Many pagan practitioners find Hindu rituals and deity worship familiar and compatible with their own practices. The emphasis on personal spiritual experience in both traditions allows for syncretism.
